EF CheckSum Manager
 http://www.efsoftware.com/cm/ss.png  EF Checksum Manager ist ein Programm zur Integritätsprüfung von Dateien anhand von Prüfsummen in den Formaten SFV, MD5 und SHA1. Sie können mit diesem Programm sowohl vorhandene Prüfsummen verifizieren als auch eigene Prüfsummen für Ihre wichtigen Daten erstellen. Der EF Checksum Manager arbeitet sehr schnell und unterstützt die rekursive Verarbeitung von Verzeichnisstrukturen bis hin zu ganzen Laufwerken. Dabei haben Sie je nach Anwendungszweck die Wahl, nur eine einzige Prüfsummendatei für alle verarbeiteten Files in sämtlichen Unterordnern erzeugen zu lassen, oder sie lassen den EF Checksum Manager für jeden Ordner oder wahlweise auch jede Datei gesonderte Prüfsummen erstellen.
Sie kennen vielleicht das Problem: Sie haben wichtige Daten auf eine CD gebrannt, sind sich anschließend aber unsicher, ob die gebrannten Daten auch wirklich zu 100% mit den Originalen übereinstimmen. Der EF Checksum Manager hilft Ihnen derartige Zweifel schnell zu beseitigen. Versehen Sie dazu einfach vor der Archivierung den zu brennenden Datenbestand mit Prüfsummen und testen Sie direkt nach dem Brennvorgang die Integrität der Daten. Da die Prüfsummendateien klein sind und nur wenig Speicherplatz benötigen, können Sie diese auch zusätzlich zu den eigentlichen Daten mit auf die CD brennen. So können Sie auch später noch jederzeit die Integrität der Daten überprüfen.
Ein weiteres wichtiges Anwendungsfeld für Prüfsummen ist die Übertragung von Daten über das Internet. Wenn Sie Dateien per E-Mail an Freunde oder Bekannte senden, kann niemand zu 100% garantieren, dass die Dateien auch richtig, d.h. unverändert angekommen sind. Erstellen Sie aber vor dem Versand eine Prüfsummendatei und fügen Sie diese zusätzlich der Mail an, kann der Empfänger anhand der Prüfsumme feststellen, ob die erhaltenen Dateien während der Übertragung verändert wurden.
Auch bei vielen Dateien die im Internet zum Download angeboten werden, wie z.B. Linux-Distributionen in Form ganzer CD-Images.
